Looking for some new fashion at bargain prices – try this for size

Spending time with family and friends is always fun. However, for women, it can be hard to find time to plan a night out. Maybe you have school, or kids or just a busy career where you just do not get quality time with your girls. When you do spend time with your girlfriends it is usually shopping or having dinner, so why not combine the two for a unique experience. A clothing swap party is a great way to spend time with your friends and family, shop and enjoy a nice meal and if you’re out there looking for great clothes at bargain prices so you can look just the ticket when you go out on your next date – this is for you!

Hosting a clothing swap part is simple. All you need are a few friends and clothing and accessories that you are tired of. By planning a party, you can have fun with your friends and family, get a new wardrobe and benefit your pocketbook and closet. Below is an easy guide to hosting your very first clothing swap party.

The first step is to plan your guest list. You need to determine who are similar in size and then plan a party around these guests. You do not want to invite 5 size 2 women and then have just one size 10. Be sure to plan the party around your friends and family who are the same size so swapping can take place between everyone. Once the guest list is made, contact your friends and family to see how might be interested. This will help you to plan the rest of the party.

Send Invites

Once you have determined who would like to attend, you will need to send out invites. On the invite, of course tell the time and place but also explain what you want to accomplish. Let the women know of what types of items to bring. Is the party strictly clothing or can accessories be included? Send the invites out in plenty of time before hand so the women have ample time to raid their closets for unwanted clothing.

Prepare the Space

The day of the clothing swap party, you will need to clear the space. Have the area open with plenty of seating and room to view the clothing. You can even create a ‘fitting room’ so everyone can try on their finds and see if the items will work for their wardrobe. This is where you plan the fun activities for the night. Consider making a runway so everyone can model their new looks!

You will also need to provide light snacks and beverages so that everyone is full and relaxed. Even consider adding wine or alcohol to the mix for a light-hearted affair.

Have Fun

Once your guests arrive, be ready to have fun. Tell each woman they are welcome in your home and get ready to try on new clothes! Who doesn’t love shopping and adding the fact that the clothes are free is a great bonus! Put on a little dance music and just have fun catching up and trying on each other’s things. This party is a great way to spend time friends, catch up, eat great food and gain a few new items for your wardrobe!

If the night is a great success, plan on hosting a party every few months to help spice up everyone’s wardrobe. You can even pass the torch and let another friend host the event to have a different experience. VisitAlight and then host a swapping party after you enjoy your new clothes!
