Relationships are like rollercoasters and Taylor Swift must love riding them…
In a world where everyone is happy, in love, and living the dream lives a 22-year-old girl. She is popular, pretty and dressed like a hipster. Now change songs and she’s 15 again. She believes it when someone tells her they love her, and thinks there’s nothing to figure out in life. Switch songs one more time and she’s going back to December to try to get back a perfect relationship. Whew – I’m already exhausted writing this. How do you think she must feel living it?
I’m here today to tell you how to handle those back and forth relationships just like Taylor Swift does.
- 1. Write a Song
God forbid we actually talk about our emotions. In 2013, we must sing them. Look at Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and even John Mayer – actually, he doesn’t want anything to do with Taylor, so never mind. Taylor has made a living writing about her relationships, the ups and downs (mostly the downs), and her ability to bounce back from them.
Taylor says this is her form of expression, that “you don”t write a song about them unless you know that you don”t really want to know them anymore.” Oh yeah, that totally explains why Taylor’s bestie, Selena Gomez, is constantly being seen with ex-long-term Justin Bieber.
- 2. Find a New Boy Toy
After Joe Jonas there was Lucas Till, next was Taylor Launter, then less than a month after that came the beloved John Mayer. Following Mayer we have Cory Monteith, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eddie Redmayne, Zac Efron, Conor Kennedy, and finally Harry Styles. Doesn’t she ever take a break? Maybe she should try dating someone from a business school and see how that works out.
As the saying goes, there are always more fish in the sea. Moving on is the best tip once the relationship has finally ended – if it ever actually ends.
- 3. Speak the Words “We Are Never Getting Back Together”
Some of these partnerships were more ephemeral than anything, but now and then there’s a relationship with more bounce-backs than a yo-yo. This is where Taylor says, “We are never ever ever ever getting back together! Like – ever.” And poof! Like magic he is gone from her life. That works in real life, right?
