With the Festive Season upon us, there’s good vibes happening for a marriage proposal so here are some timely tips on great ways to propose. Good luck…
You feel that the time is right but you want that special moment to be a really special one; how are you going to do it? There are probably a million and ways to make this moment a truly memorable
one, from the extravagant to the traditional, here are some great ways to make that all important proposal!
Say it loud and proud: Some people like to go the understated
route while other just want the whole world to know that something special is happening. There are many ways to make your declaration of love a very public one. From putting it up on the Jumbo screen at a sporting event, to decorating that roundabout you know she passes every morning on her way to work; if you really want to go large there is nothing stopping you. Just make sure that this ostentatious celebration of your love is one that your loved one will be happy with too!
Bon Voyage: Is there any city in the world that says love more than Paris? Probably not, so if you really want to make the mother of all impressions, push out the boat a little and get over to the French capital. An expensive hotel room with views overlooking the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, an expensive bottle of champagne, and you are all set to pop the question. If she was unsure before, she certainly won’t be now. Bon chance!
Make it Simple: Not everybody loves a show off and a lot of people prefer intimacy and tradition. The classic and best loved way is to simply take your loved one to their favourite restaurant. Tonight there is no sharing or scrimping on the price; everything must be the best and then you get ready to get down on one knee once the dessert is out of the way. You phone ahead so that the waiter is on the surprise and make sure that the first thing you taste after the “Yes” has been pronounced is a chilled bottle of bubbly.
Be Romantic: There is nothing your partner appreciates more than realising that you too cherish all of those little moments that you have spent together and which make your such a special relationship. A great way to announce your good intentions is for you to buy a large strip of red velvet ribbon and run it from one point in your house to another. At intervals along the ribbon you place photos or keepsakes that you have kept from particular places or times. At the end of the ribbon you are waiting for your sweetheart with the greatest surprise and memory of all!
For the timid: Not everybody is brave, especially when it comes to something as important as this. The last thing you want is for your nerves to get the better of you and for the moment to be messed up. For those with this kind of disposition perhaps the best way is for you to simply rearrange your partner’s jewellery box. Get that old signet ring out of the way, hide the one she puts on everything day before leaving for work, and have your new sparkly one waiting for her. It might not be the most romantic gesture in the world but she’ll be too over the moon to worry about that. You might both be late for work this morning!
