How to achieve perfect skin in time for summer
Many people hit the gym in preparation for summer, but forget to take care of their complexion. A good skincare regime is essential at this time of year, so here’s how to achieve a radiant glow.
Exfoliate
If you want to look your best during the warm spell, it’s wise to exfoliate on a regular basis. Simply, buy an exfoliating cream and rub it over your skin in the bath or shower. This will remove dead skin cells and should open your pores – leaving your with a radiant glow. If your skin needs a little extra pick-me-up, skin rejuvenation treatments are available at reputable clinics, so find out more today.
Microdermabrasion, for instance, polishes the top layer of skin and IPL laser helps cure fine lines, rosacea, age spots and other conditions.
Hydrate your skin
To keep your skin well hydrated, drink at least two litres of water a day and moisturise regularly. If you don’t know what product to use, speak to a dermatologist to find out what you should be buying. We don’t all have the same skin type, so it’s important to find something that suits you. Once you have a decent cream, massage it into your body using small circular movements and leave it to soak in before getting dressed. This will stimulate your circulation and will allow the moisturiser to soak in properly – helping you to look fabulous.
Make a facemask
Experts have recommended a wealth of facemasks, so why not give them a try? Whip up your very own mixture and revamp your appearance in style. If you’re suffering from spots or acne, for instance, a homemade strawberry concoction could really help. Simply mash up a handful of ripe strawberries and mix them with sour cream or natural yoghurt. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it to soak in for around 20 minutes. During this time, the salicylic acid found in the strawberries should help cure skin ailments and the cream or yoghurt will soothe your complexion.
Improve varicose veins
Varicose veins can be a really nuisance in the summer, especially when you want to wear shorts or pretty skirts. They’re caused by faulty valves in the legs which allow blood to flow backwards and gather in the veins – but they can be cured. Try wearing compression stockings whenever possible, as these will squeeze your legs and improve circulation. If you want to take more drastic action, varicose veins can be removed through surgery, so arrange a consultation with your surgeon. Typically, an ultrasound will be carried out to determine the cause of the veins before the procedure’s performed.
Summer’s rapidly approaching, so take care of your skin and look radiant over the coming months.
