Save Money – Products & Services You can get for FREE
Found this terrific article from Forbes.com on 21 Cool Products and Services you can get for FREE. And we all LOVE to find a bargain or better still a freebie! Do let us know which are your favorites out of these. So here goes with a bit of a synopsis and my favorite 7 picks and you’ll find a link to the complete Forbes.com article below.
1 Health Care – Need antibiotics? You can get Antibiotics for free from major pharmacies around the US who can see the benefit of offering you a FREE generic antibiotic as long as you have a prescription. Obviously pharmacies like ShopRite, Stop & Shop and PUblix as well as many others want to get you into their shop somehow and by giving you a freebie, hope you will buy other items – and the odds are you more than likely will!
2 Cellphone Ringtones are still very popular and Myxer offers a wide range – many free – from top artists as well as ‘non’ musicians like comedians. Even better, you can use their software to upload your own songs.
3 If you ever wished you had more info on a particular college course you’re undertaking or would like to undertake – well now you can with some of the elite universities including Stanford, UC Berkely, M.I.T offering FREE downloadable lectures. You can’t get credits with this sort of ‘lecture’, but hey you’re getting heaps of info for FREE that you can put to good use in your course.
4 Go CouchSurfing meaning find someone, somewhere in the world who’s quite happy
for a stranger to make use of their couch for the night. Now this one I’d heard about before but am not so sure I’d like to lob at someone’s door to just spend the night. However, each to their own and it does save you heaps of money and you get to meet the locals.
5 WI-FI Access - yes – Good old Maccas leads the charge here with a wi-fi network you can use for FREE anytime you’re in the vicinity. Yes, laptops and burgers sure go well. Now the likes of Starbucks and Borders have gone down the WI-FI FREE access route also. Now, this I didn’t know - there is now a map showing you FREE WI-FI hot spots in your AREA.
6 – Discount Sites - the obvious one that comes to mind is Groupon – it’s been growing so fast I don’t think anyone’s been able to keep up with it. Definitely worth a visit.
7 Tax Preparation – the thing we absolutely love doing – NOT! Well, the IRS has hundreds of volunteers who will provide free tax advice and preparation to a range of people. You can also get your burning tax question sorted out with Turbo Tax before 31st January.
Click here for link to Forbes.com for full article although I must say I found it particularly painful to click through the slides to read all the info – or maybe it was just me trying to view it – I did try both IE and Firefox just in case it was the browser but No it wasn’t. Good luck.
